International Forest Products exports continue to climb, up 60 positions in past six years

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — International Forest Products Corporation (IFP), headquartered in Foxborough, Mass., has moved up 60 positions in the past six years and now ranks 40th on the list of the Top 100 U.S. Exporters by the Journal of Commerce. IFP is the only Massachusetts-based company to make the Top 100 list and ranks second to Connecticut's General Electric (GE) among all New England-based exporters. The annual Top 100 rankings are based on data from PIERS Global Intelligence Solutions, a Journal of Commerce sister company.

In 2001, International Forest Products was the 100th ranked U.S. exporter with a volume of 7,300 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs), a standard measurement of containerized ocean shipping. In 2007, IFP exported 28,400 TEUs, a 15.9 percent increase from its 24,500 TEUs in 2006 and a 30.3 percent increase in two years. This is the third consecutive year that IFP has ranked among the top 50 among leading U.S. exporters.

"We are very proud of the consistent growth IFP has enjoyed over the years and of our continued ascent among the nation's largest exporters," said Daniel Kraft, President and Chief Operating Officer of International Forest Products. "We are a privately-owned, family-operated company that specializes in customer service. The quality of our products and services, as well as our diversification in the marketplace, has helped us achieve steady growth in the industry. It is a reflection of the talent and dedication of our entire IFP team. We work hard to constantly build on the foundation that we have established with our customers around the world."
